Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

The Mayans would have called you "anti-science" back in the day, for calling their prediction BS.

Y2K was about a lot of computer folks making a lot of money on fear tactics.

At least this was fun to wait for. Then again the Mayans didn't have leap year. Oh, and if the Mayan was so good at predicting stuff umm, they appear to have missed another date for their end of times too.

Ron, Actually, only the Mayan culture passed with time, however SE Mexico/Yucatan has a rather large population of indigenous Mayan people to this day.

Never thought of that. I wonder why they abandoned the temples and some cities. Probably searching for food.

Nah Ron...better TV reception.

(...word is those temples would often block the satellite signals...somethin' to do with all those steps on those things, I understand)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

There's as many theories as temples including food shortages, drought, civil revolution, common infections , infections from ritual cannibalism to even a change in trade routes. No one knows, construction slowly decreased and populations dispersed. Evidently the last guy to leave didn't chisel an explanation or goodbye note.

You've got something there about the steps... not bad going up (unless you were the sacrifice of the day) piss your pants scarry coming down. Once was probably enough before they said "I'm out of here"

What makes you think this is over? The calendar I just put up stops at the end of 2013! Does this mean something? Is the end only twelve months and a few days away? There is nothing after December 31st 2013, are we all going to die? Does time stop?

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
