Let's see here, math time...
Your current clearence is 0.35 using a 2.84 shim.
The spec for this one should be 0.25-0.30 (Middle ~ 0.275)
The difference is 0.35(actual) - 0.275(desired) = 0.09
This means it is too loose by 0.09.
So you need to Add 0.09 to the shim.
Add if loose, subtract if tight
Therefore: 2.84 + 0.09 = 2.93 for correct clearence of 0.30.
Shims are available in 0.025 increments, so you need a shim that is 2.925-2.950 mm to get close to the correct clearence.
I bet the dealer would be more than happy to just order you new ones since you haven't used the others. Maybe....
Good luck, and good catch. You would have had a really noisy motor if you used the smaller shims.
