I've thought about removing the pipe hanger brackets as I don't see myself ever going back to the factory pipes. I just hate to start grinding on a 2012 bike. When on long trips I have used the rear pegs for a change of foot position at times. I can't say the empty bracket hole or even the hanger stud is too obvious.
Last week I had to pick up a part at the H-D shop and a future bike owner asked me if my America was a Soft-tail Deluxe or a Street Bob! I explained that Soft Tails don't have visible rear shocks and he laughed and said "oh yea so it is a Street Bob"? I gotta laugh out of that.
This Triumph thing is getting expensive but after owning this for 9 months I can see the appeal. There's just something about them. Riding a mid sized bike is just plain fun again. I was at the closest dealer last week and rode a few of the other models. He said he would have in the Trophy in the next few weeks.
A Harley Heritage, a Triumph America, a good Irish Whiskey and cigar. As close to Heaven on earth as I can get.
