I don't want to remove the wheel or brakes or anything so here is my thought. Can i not just take the chrome nut (the one between the risers on the top tripple tree) off, losen the two fork clamp bolts on the tree and lift the hole thing off with the handlebars, slide the shrouds off and put the bars back down until i replace the shrouds, then just tighten everything up? I would not even have to losen the bottom fork clamp bolts i think. This nut has nothing to do with the bearings and stuff for steering right? I have never had any of that off so not sure, just want to powdercoat the top shrouds.
