Parent's home for Thanksgiving. All Lynn and I have to bring are four pies. Had a strange request this year: Two Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pies. I mean wtf? Isn't regular pecan pie poison enough? There was a time that apple juice was reduced and used in place of corn syrup. That was delicious. My favorite is to peel and core 6 large granny smiths. Use lard and a deep dish. Too lazy to weave the top crust anymore. Sweet potatoes is my second favorite. Lard? why not? it is all bad for you anyway.
We are going to bring our redneck horseshoe game over and set that up too. Mum wants us there at 11am to help her cook. (they always have a fridge full of Yuenglings so I'm game ) Parents celebrated their 80th birthdays this year. Dad says he is going to retire. So we do have much to be thankful for.
Man, that pecan pie sounds good. Most oldest has a SO making her first visit that's coming and that's what I requested she bring. Sounds like I let her off too easy.
