haha, how about $5.00 for a gallon of milk, and people ****** about gas prices
My milk cost $11.00 per gallon. The price one pays for unpasteurized milk.

Let me start off by saying that I love coffee.
I think you've struck a caffeinated nerve here Soren
My stimulated past is chequered. A few years drinking stove top boiled coffee. Graduated to a civilized perculator. Enjoyed that for 40 years. The element quit heating and I couldn't find a suitable replacement, so I settled for a Black n Decker drip maker affair. That's OK. Brands? Mostly whatever is on sale at the local grocery; Foldgers, Hills Brothers, MJB (from my boiled coffee cowboy days), or in a pinch Western Family store brand.
I've had those french press coffee at folks houses and they're great, even stop by a drive through for a flavoured brew once in a awhile
The grindyourownbean seems to be better, because it's fresher . Maybe I'll pick up a pound of some sort of bean today and test the theory.

Good coffee is really a fairly cheap luxury; though some Jamaican stuff can go for $40.00 a pound (it is good though) most are much less expensive.
I was getting this stuff from Costco for about $13 a pound.Yeah it's a blend but still pretty good stuff.

Giant size coffee beans ... Nicaraguan Maragogipe are awesome and only $35/kilo here. They are about twice the size of regular beans and have a very full body with strong chocolate overtones. I drink it black so it has to be the best ( milk masks lesser coffee shortcomings IMO). Fresh roasted daily grind in a French press.

The Maragogipe (pronounced maa-ra-go-hee-pey) coffee was found in Brazil near the town of the same name. It is a mutated botanical variety of arabica typical coffee. It was later exported and now grows across several coffee producing countries.

I didn't know it originally came from Brazil, thanks. I also struggled with the pronunciation. The stuff I get is grown in Nicuragua so I assumed that was the origin.
It's a bit like Kiwifruit originally came from China and macadamia nuts originally came from Australia.
