I wave as much as is safely possible to other motorcyclists regarless of style or brand (no scooters though). If they don't wave back, that is their problem. I don't worry or think about it. Maybe it will give them something to think about, maybe not. I did my part, the rest is upto them.
I have talked to some people that ride and they really have no clue about waving at all.
