Listening to another post made me think about the band. I was a fan back in the day, and bought their first three "successful" albums. "The Wizard" is still in my top ten of all time favorite songs, even though I don't think it ever got any airplay. Loved the acoustic guitar and lyrics. Any other Heep fans out there?

Very much so,I think I wore a groove through Demons and Wizards. That was such a wonderful era of music with bands like Uriah Heep,Yes,Moody Blues, Emerson Lake and Palmer,Ten Years After etc.
As has been said, they just don't make em like that anymore

The Wizard and Thirty Days in the Hole by Humble Pie were the first songs I downloaded. After thirty years, the local album oriented rock station who played these nuggets changed format. Currently, the only classic rock station in Little Rock plays worn out hits from days gone by.

Didn't buy into the hype, you can keep the change.

Love Uriah Heep, I remember hearing somewhere that they were the inspiration for Spinal Tap.

In the course of my work, a few years I met some Russian custom officials doing some training here in the UK, and they were saying that HEEP are really massive over there and regularly play to sell out crowds.!!! Tears in my eyes and Easy Living are a couple of my favourites.

I'd rather ride it than clean it!!!!

I'm not sure if that is a compliment to the band if they are the ones to inspire Spinal Tap
