The twistiest stretch of NY 97 through Hawk's Nest is really quite short. I don't know, maybe a half mile? You can see the whole length of it while you're on it.
The nice part about 97 is that it runs along the Delaware River and is quite scenic. In 2010 I took a group ride of folks from out of state through there and they loved it. You could take NY 97 from Port Jervis to Hancock and have a real nice ride.
We usually turn off at the Roebling Bridge and take some of those twisty PA roads like 590. US 6 just south of there is a real nice cruiser road too.
