Spent the week going thru the bike after Sundays mishap. This is what I have. Handlebars, right side bent forward, needs replaced; handlebar risers, bolt bent, replacing both; bottom of one riser mushroomed, need to machine both flat; heat shields on tor's popped loose, both need to be straighten and welded back on; right rear turn signal needs to be straighten; bar on side-stand needs to be straighten, and I'll need new saddle bags. I should be able to get back on the road for less than a couple hundred.

Outstanding. Glad to hear the report isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Well, I know that was your first and I hate that that happened, Mark. I've been there and know how you feel. Forget about it and get back on remembering only what was learned. What was messed up on your saddle bags? Don't remember them being messed up.

Glad to hear it won't cost much, Mark. Sounds like you will save a lot doing some of the stuff yourself. Like Chris said, live and learn and be grateful you didn't get hurt too bad. Ride on!

Don't forget I have the right front foot peg for you.

Ohhh nice. The fresh woody scent would add some flavor AND horsepower probably. Could I get a pair for my Rocket in Cedar too?

Oh, I forgot that I sheared the peg off. Do you have anything in hickory Charlie?

Golly, I hope you weren't injured badly (from what I gather from your post). Been there & done that myself and it's a real blow regardless anyway you look at it. It's good to hear you'll be back to riding soon enough tho.

I'm fine, just a bruised ego. Just waiting for new handle bars to show up and should be able to get it back together quickly.

After a couple weeks waiting for the handlebars and a spare foot peg from Dave, thanks again Dave, my America is back up and running. Only now I'm down with a cold. I hope to be able to get it out this weekend.

Good news, Mark. Glad to hear things are back to normal. High in the mid 50's this weekend so you should be able to get a ride in.
