Richard, I'm curious, have you started on your air box yet? I went back and read earlier posts and noticed that you said that you didn't think you could go with the Billet intakes with the air box. I did and there was no problem. If you want to open up your air box, you might want to consider also opening up the bottom of the air box, then open the bottom of your K & N filter, so you can breath through both the top and the bottom.

If you want the most bang for your buck, open the air box completely, or better yet, eliminate it and go with pods. Add a good set of mufflers, 813 cams and a stage 2 igniter. My America now dynoes out at 77 hp and 69 ft lb of torque with peak torque around 4,000 ROM and max power at 6,700 RPM. And my mods have been fairly inexpensive except for th 813 cams.

08 America, A/I &, Calif emissions "stuff" gone, air box removed & battery relocated, billet intakes, UNI Pods, 145 mains, 42 pilots, Stage 2 igniter, intminators, 813 cams, Progressive 412's, modified seat.

I haven't gutted the airbox yet. I want to get my hands on an airbox to work on because i want to see if i can fit velocity stacks inside like some have done on Bonnevilles. So far I have installed a Breathe intake and an a/f gauge so I can monitor the various stages. Opening the base of the airbox will be done after the box has been gutted. My bike is an EFI so that's why I was thinking the billet intakes might not fit.

Stan, what is your torque in the 4-5000 rpm range? Never mind, I just re-read your post.

Stan, is your torque correct? I'm wondering if there's a typo because yours is the highest I've seen without a big bore kit.

These numbers mean nothing to me without a reference...let's see the dyno sheet.

It was last year when I did the dyno run, and I posted the print out on the RAT forum dyno thread, but I'll see if I can find the print out and post it here. I was also surprised at the reading, but the dyno operator assured me that his dyno was spot on.

I'm not as concerned about hp and tq as I am A/F, which is why I did the run. I'll be going back this coming Friday because I've changed my main jets and want to see if I'm running too rich. In Dec and Jan the Harley shop in Modesto, CA runs a special. They'll do a dyno run for $20 and I take full advantage of the opportunity.

I found a copy of the dyno chart, but it's on my computer, not on the internet, so I can't post it here. If anyone wants to send me their email I can send you the dyno chart as an email attachment and you can post it if you'd like.

I'm not trying to be disagreeable, but I just don't know how to post here.

Here's the thread from T-Rat: Stan's "dyno" run

Those numbers are not at all comparable to a DJ run.

As I stated when I posted the dyno chart on the RAT forum, I was more interested in the A/F ratio than the hp and tq figures, but I'm going back to the shop with the dynojet today. They have a winter special where they'll do a dyno run for $20.

And Ken, I'm not defending the previous dyno run, just repeating what I was told and what I see on the chart. You wanted to see the chart and you saw it.

Stan, my comments came across as harsh & I appologize for that. The numbers you were given simply are not comparable to a DJ dyno. If you get another DJ run then I suggest asking the dyno operator to graph it as SAE, smoothing 5, & provide you with the correction factor used. Then there will at least be a meaningful comparision to whatver numbers you get from the DJ run.

Thank you for your last post. I was really surprised at your earlier comments because it just didn't sound like you. And I questioned the accuracy of that dyno chart when it was done. I tried to get a new dyno run today, but the dyno was in use all afternoon, so I'll have to wait until next week.

Hi Richard, you can have my old air box if you pay for shipping. I just read you needed one to work on that's all.
