Anybody going to put their motor in a chopper or bobber frame? To save money, go with an open sportster frame. Then use 3/8 thick metal to make your mounting tabs for the front and back. You want to make the back mount in two pieces so you can bolt/unbolt the engine for easy removal and placement.

I'm fitting scrambler style pipes. Removing air box. Adding uni pods Shaving rear fender/side mount plate and light Painting forks, trees, bars, tank, fender, and headlight if idont swap it out Amber headlight with rock guard Finding a new place for Speedo (probably inside the headlight) New chain and sprockets. And if I have time moving controls further away.
Already lowered front and rear.12 inch biltwell apes, Bonneville tankd. And crashed.

Okay Mike, I've just GOTTA ask here....
WHERE is that pink douche bag goin' on the bike, and WHY didn't you have THAT powdercoated black at the same time TOO???

(...sorry, couldn't resist!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

This winter will be "estimate collection" time. I already spent most of my budget on the airbox removal, and my wife is getting new pipes on her Vulcan 900, so I can only do research at the moment......mostly on "real flame" custom paint shops. I have a red & black theme in mind, part flames and part re-introduction of the Triumph "sworl" on the tank, which my bike doesn't have.
Am looking for a local place that I can visit and meet with in person...anyone had success with mailing their parts/fenders away?
