If I get brave....I will tackle a major wiring clean-up and move everything into the bars....I've been avoiding it because, well, everything currently works. (knock wood).
...you're gonna feel a little pressure....

couple of projects: first - install a new bike lift (i am no old for kneeling down to work on bikes). then relocate the oil filter on the 05 speedy and add in an extra oil cooler, possibly with a fan under the seat or behind the tranny, make up some finned collars for the speedies exhaust (retro looking), and rear axle spikes. on the wifes bike: shorten the rear brake lever and gin up a few dress up items.
05 speedmaster - 1100cc, 11:1 racing pistons, Carillo rods, thunderbike cams, ported and polished head, 2mm over intake and exhaust valves, Barnett kevlar clutch, scepter pipes, oversize manifolds, 45mm HSR's, TTP stage 4 firestarter

I have a spare tank that I'm going to have painted but first I'm thinking about doing some metal work to it, the likes of which have never before been seen

Powdercoat black the headlight, air filter grates, mirrors, and the control plate covers, then add new riser i bought from hellrisers which will also be Powdercoated black, add longer cables, add front axle spikes i bought from NSM and new rear solo finishers to replace the tribla ones i have now. And see what happens after that.

I need to get my chrome fork legs installed on my bike. Get the tuning headers swapped from Karens bike onto mine and get her headers back onto her bike. Maybe work on my windscreen setup. If i get really motivated a good cleaning, waxing and such on both bikes. If i can get Karen to spend a few bucks, maybe an airbox removal for herbike. Might be easier to find the easter bunny though.

Winter...ughhhh!! Six more months until spring here in the northeast. I picked up an extra tank and rear fender that i'm in the process of sanding, a little bodywork after chop, and then paint satin black for the old school look. Maybe some red accents also to compliment the hot rod look. Change of signals...maybe some heat wrap on the pipes. Some other tinkering and fine-tuning to keep me sane...and keep the beer fridge rotated for freshness

Ya know guys, I have to agree with erle here. Ya see, because us guys who live in locations where we can ride in relatively good weather all year around don't have this "down time" in order to do things to our bikes, if we want to do stuff to our bikes we are forced to make the conscious decision to take our machines "offline" for a while in order to do so. And thus, as you can see, this always presents a special little conundrum to us folks in the Southeast and the Southwest. (...I'm sure you can now sympathize with our plight here, right?!)

Oh and btw...IF I can make that aforementioned "conscious decision", my plan in the coming months is to take the front fender off my '02 Cardinal Red BA and paint a 1 inch wide silver stripe down the middle of it in order to match the silver crescent on the gas tank. (...though as I stated above, this 2 to 3 day project MIGHT force me to take my bike "offline" for that length of time this winter...OH the agony!)

Well Fred, you got me thinking on that one. New tires and new front brakes are pretty much needed. If any money is left over possibly some Kuryaken grips with throttle boss, and risers would definitely take the strain off my shoulders on long trips, saddlebags with easy brackets. Wait... is this a wish list or definite to do list?

WOW!!! Now THAT is one nice lookin' ride and can definitely see why you're inspired by it, Ed. (...I wonder how many guys walk up to the owner and ask him: "Say, what year is that? A '52 or somethin'?")

well guys I finally have a little money to get my crank stroked .250(Sorry to you metrics guys. I'm a U.S. machinist and still think in thousands and not millimeters). For you metric guys that would be 6.35mm. I'm going pull the crank and send it off this winter.

To add Stroke to the crankshaft allows the piston to rise higher in the cylinder, compressing the fuel air mixture, raising the compression ratio. It draws more of the fuel air mixture into the cylinder on the downstroke, all for the pupose of creating more power/torque. After I take my measurements I'll determine what pistons I'll need and what thickness head gasket I need to have made.

My winter project started last year, and this was to strip the bike down and sort out the peeling on the engine of the powdercoat, while building it back up I am fitting the K&N pods, no work on the engine and it will stay as the original 790cc. http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...ge=0#Post530086
