I want to know if anyone here has just shortened the stems on the rear yurn signal (not bought a kit), I have been too lazy to pull the license bracket and check the style connector. I want to shorten them about 3-4 inches almost snug against my License plate.

My grandfather and I shortened the stems from my 04 on his lathe. We basically cut them in half and made two sets.

Try this link:

web page

I have been researching the same thing and found a bunch of good info in these threads.

If that link doesn't work go to search and type in +shorten +turn +signal and then change to posts older than 1 day.

Here's what I did Jerry..... 2007 Speedy taillight mod & install on 07 BA

Enjoy....BTW it does improve the aesthetics of the rear profile on Black Beauty The turn signal connectors are individual 18ga. bullet type (couldn't tell ya the actual part # tho), the tail/brake light is a 3 wire (shared ground) bayonet type. It's an easy install once the stems have been turned down. Took about a half hour and several to cut, turn & die the stems down. about 10mins to reassemble the stems to the tailight nacelles & mounting braket, and about 20mins to splice, solder, and final the whole shebang onto the bike!
