Actually the branding on apparel started probably before most if not all of us were born. One thinks of Brooks Brothers sports wear or the one most of us are familiar with Izod Lacoste, the crocodile. No it's not an alligator, it's name after a famous French tennis player, Lacoste know as the Croc, he had a huge nose. Why Brooks Bros. has the sheep, I don't know, maybe it's about wool or something very disgusting.
I do know Coach purses are expensive, my ex had about six of them back in the 80s. Those were indestructible, but like everything now days quality has suffered.
