With the exception of the UK, none of the 19 countries I have been in during the past 20 years actually use gallons. The last time I filled up I paid 145 yen to the LITER (or litre). Which brings me back to the original joke...a liter is a liter as a pint is a pint as an ounce is an ounce regardless on what plot of land....nevermind
