I was cleaning the bike and relocating the battery last weekend and I noted Friday that the Neutral Light was laways on. I got the wire from what I believe is the Neutral sensor (bottom of engine next to oil filter) caught in the sprocket cover. I fixed that, but the light is still dimly lite. Very noticeable at night, not noticeable during the day.

Is this normal and just something I missed over the past 3 years? BTW the idiot lights are LED bulbs.

Did you just take it out of the side cover? If the wire was pinched it may be damaged. I did that to mine too. I still believe it is the wire you are contending with.

I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

The wire was damaged, just smashed a little and the insulation tore. I wrapped it in electrical tape and since I couldt get heat shrink over the connector so I put some sprial cut tubing around it to keep it from getting crushed again.

that makes sense, the LED needs less power to operate so it could be some residual which is why it is dim.
Maybe it always happened and I never noted until I crushed the cable and it was full-on when it wasnt supposed to be and now Im hyper-sensitive to it.

Not that it matters, but does it get brighter when you're actually in neutral?
