Yes, I had to slip the clutch up the hill, and it was a huge hill, to keep the engine running. It started to lose power transfer right at the top of the hill and then stopped transferring power altogether. This process took less then 1 minute from the time it was transmitting power to a complete loss of power.
Blackwind: Yes, it revs in gear and will not go. There is what appears to be a jingling or rattling sound coming from the clutch case when it is pushed forward or backward in gear.
I have VERY VERY BASIC mechanic skills and basic hand tools. Would I be able to do this repair myself? I read somewhere all I would need really is a torque wrench. Has anyone rebuilt their own clutch?
