I bought one of these very cool helmets a couple of weeks ago and thought I'd throw in my 2 cents about it.

To put it plainly, I love it. The versatility, fit, feel, and functionality are all top notch. The removable chin gaurd has been upgraded on this newer model providing more room and steel parts. Very easy to use. The field of view is incredible. It practically feels like you're not wearing a helmet with how wide open to the sides and up and down it is. This comes in handy with the instruments being on the tank dash as you don't have to move your head down. The helmet is extremely light and low profile so it not a huge mushroom...I hate that. It has cut outs in the ears for speakers and many systems can work with it. I use the Scala Rider Cardo unit and have no issues with installation or fit on the helmet. The microphone has plenty of room with or without the chin gaurd and has no wind noise underneath. The speakers can't be felt at all in the helmet.
I got it for a steal at revzilla at about 100 dollars under retail. My neighborhood stores could do 359 and revzilla is 266. No hassles and free exchange and all that jazz.
The only non-perfect items are that the venting could be a little better and the drop down visor does not do a great job with dimming the sun. In fact, it almost becomes blinding in direct sun and I find myself reaching for my normal shades. I'll look into or work on that to see if there is a better solution.
So I give it a thumbs up and a 9.5 outta 10.

Nice helmet Chris. I was disappointed to hear about the drop down shades, though. I was going to try and buy a Nolan 3/4 helmet with those.

I guess you could put a tinted visor on it as well as the drop down shades... I usually wear sunglasses under my tinted visor

Yeah. Here even with sunglasses the sun can be too bright. I guess I was hoping for too much to be able to eliminate my sunglasses altogether. Crap MC accessory whse had the Nolan N42 E helmets for closeout $99. Just my luck they were sold out but for XS. Revzilla has the best prices for non closeout Nolans.

I've been looking at those too. It is getting time for me to buy a new helmet. Thanks for the review.

I bought one last February. Love how you can configure it for warm and cold riding. The drop down visor did take getting use to. Most of all, you have better peripheral view.

Ya, the view is extensively huge, isn't it? I think I don't like the visor because it has a bluish tint to it which I don't really like.

They seem to only go up to 2XL bummer. Then again, the Scorpion I have a 3XL in is only listed to 2X on their site also...

Can you take the drop down visor out? Whether you could or not I would tint the drop down visor to make it darker if I could.

I have the N43-E without the chin guard. I love it too. It's so comfortable and really cuts through the wind. I get almost no helmet buffeting. I orded the N-com bluetooth system for it and it's on back order. It's just a great helment and well worth the investment

I have the Nolan43E,Had mine for 3years now.bought it when I lived in Tucson,Az.Excelent hot weather helmet.Very lightweight and easy on the head.I will be ordering the como set soon.

I've got a drop down visor on a Fulmer I bought last fall. Three quarter helmet. I never use the drop down for full eye coverage, rather, I use it for a tinted sun visor when the sun is lowering in the sky.

My wife and I bought a pair of the N43-E models along with the N-Com units. Great helmets. A little noisy but otherwise very good. I like the convenience of the strap fastener.

The best part is that the helmet works for its purpose. My wife had a relatively low speed off and her head struck a sidewalk. The helmet did its job perfectly.

Our problem, unfortunately, was that the N43-E had been discontinued and we couldn't locate a suitable replacement that could also be fitted with the specific N-Com unit. We ended up buying a whole new setup from a different manufacturer.
