Have tried the mp3 in the pocket with ear buds under the helmet and found the ear buds work their way out-also having the cords running down the neck etc was a pain-can not adjust volume once you get on the road so stuck with the volume unit set at. Using my samsung as mp3 can adjust vol on road-no cords=can change song with swipe of finger. I do not use this in built up areas and only on the open road and adjust when traffic conditions are good. Turn vol off when entering built up area which turns amp off. Phone being charged by bike so no problem with battery. A side benefit is that a incoming call flashes up. As I work on a casual call out basis this is good. Can pull over and reply. Obviously their are many systems out there with blue tooth and all the other fancy ad ons but they cost far more and this works for me. Handlebar mount for phone was $7 from Hongkong and works really well even on bad roads. So,e of these units go up to 500w so do not think you would hear a Mack truck if it was right up your butt!!!
