Not sure I will go again...Integrity of the Non-Triumph Rat(?)Raid is contaminated...Gold Wings,Ducatis,Kawisakis',Harleys have over taken the parking lot..Got tired of defending my choice to purchase a Triumph(didnt know a gold wing would run over 150mph on the highway, passing everthing Triumph builds!)And to top it off,They gave awards to non-riders(cagers)and trailered bikes...Going to devote my money and time to a "Riders" Association of Triumphs.A current solution seems to be to block the street and have more parking..You'all have a good time..wont miss me and I wont miss you!

As Mike already said, my intention is to fix the parking issues and make the lot Triumph priority parking. I will work hard to get safe parking for our non-Triumph riding friends. It's my first year running this and I have listened to many concerns already with parking being the most popular.

Now, as for who won what award, the run down was like this:

Best sport - was a Daytona from SK and was ridden to the Raid
Best cruiser - was a Speedmater from AB and was ridden to the Raid
Best Standard - was a custom cafe racer style Bonneville from AB and was ridden to the Raid
Best overall - was a custom cafe racer Bonneville from AB, the Gulf bike, and was ridden to the Raid
Farthest ride to the Raid - was Sarah from Toronto and she rode over 20,000km to the Raid
Best Rat Bike - since there are no true rat bikes, Jen won for crashing on the 1A on our way to the Raid, throwing her bike in the back of a rented Dodge Caravan Stow and Go and coming anyway despite breaking her wrist and having a mild concussion. It was decided she deserved recognition for her dedication to the Raid as it was also her first and very far from her last. She will be riding next year.

I sincerely hope that clarifies that misconception that trailored bikes and non-riders were awarded.

Things are going to be different next year. It will be fresh, fun and new without taking away from some traditions. First new thing...I'm in the final stages of redesigning the new website which will be launched as soon as it's done.

I can't make anyone come but you will miss out on some cool things if you don't. I'm excited to be taking this on and again, to all who have offered to help and have provided suggestions, brought up concerns and feel positive about the new direction, thank you all. Your support is what will make this event even better!

I can be reached at liane@kootenayratraid.com.

Cheers all!

Any day on my bike is the best day ever! That would be my custom painted 2007 Speedmaster or my 2002 Daytona 955i also known as my salt racing bike!
