Been on here for years. Never really wanted to post any pics until I finished working on her, but as we all know, that point never comes. Since I have decided to list my stock parts for sale in the classifieds(shameless plug), I figured the time has come!

Thanks for looking!

As she sits today.

Before I ditched the speedo and wrapped the headers.

You know I have been riding a struted CB650 honda I built for a friend and it is a lot of fun. I would even consider long distance on it on the right roads.

It's not too bad. You gotta watch the dips at 80 tho, Ive been popped a a good foot plus outta the seat and off the pegs. That said, I ride this bike pretty much everyday. Its been on struts for two years now and I haven't had a date with the chiropractor yet. I ride with my girl on the back pretty often too, she doesn't complain too much, even when sometimes she only has a folded t-shirt to ride on.

It does look good.
I have the same paint on my 2002 BA
How long are the struts?
Progressive shocks are 11.5"
Did you put a lowering kit in the forks?
What tires are those. They have a nice look to them.
And I like how you blacked our your fork covers.

The struts are only 10 inches long. I lowered the front end a lil over 2 inches, progressive suspension kit, which got rid of the "chatter" from the combo of the front wheel and the back sitting so much lower. Overall she sits around 4 inches off the ground. I barely clear speed bumps, some I scrap over. The pipes drag when I lean super sharp, but i haven't lost enough to make me switch back. Overall handling is still great on this bike and its a blast to ride with your heels just inches off the ground.

The front tire is a rear tire from a dual sport. Its fatter and and taller with a much more prominent curve across the top, it tends to lean into a turn much easier, but requires a lil more counter steer. It also scoops water off the road like a bucket, so with no front fender and no shield, your gonna get a face full.

I had a local painter mechanically sand then paint the headlight bucket, trim ring, fork shrouds, dash, and stock struts. They were painted four year ago and still look great, best part is paint is cheaper and easier to fix than powder coat and they used the factory paint codes to match it. My goal was to black out most of the bike while leaving minimal touches of chrome and silver for contrast.

I rode a hardtail chopper for over 20 years and all over the country. They really are not bad at all in my opinion. I run 10psi in the rear tire for some give and thats it.

only 10 pounds? you must have not been getting many miles out of those tires. haha how long would the tire last with only 10psi?

I had some strutts like that maybe 5-6 years ago and was looking for them again recently to re-use 'em on my America that I'm finally getting back on the road.
First day I installed them I did a 300 mile ride. It was ok. The suspension provided by the tyre, seat and, the biggest factor, my arse, seemed ok.
Our two bikes might not look all that dissimilar

nice ride! I'm sure it hangs in the curves quite well.

She handles curves just fine, Blonde curves, Brunette curves, even the occasional Redhead curves, whatever curves the road might throw my way!

Sorry couldn't help myself!

The bars are Biltwell trackers, and the grips are Arlen Ness SoftTech series, which are made for Harley's, but with a lil filing and grinding of the throttle sleeve to fit the stock housing, fit perfect and look great
