I'm gonna out myself here. I'm a tight a$$ when it comes to clothes. Mostly it's because I just don't care much about them, as long as I'm warm, covered and safe. I can count on two hands the number of brand-new jean pants I have bought in my LIFE, and those the less than $20 pair. Since I was a kid, my Mom and later my wife, has bought all my jeans from yard sales. Usually a dollar or two. Now that I've confessed, however, I do have a small bluejeans story. When I was a freshman in high school, I got a pair of jeans for Xmas. They were nice enough, I guess, but I remember that although they were obviously jean material, they were about half the thickness of regular jeans, kind of a slight polyestor feel, although you couldn't tell it by looking. I swear to God, I owned and wore those jeans regularly for the NEXT 25 YEARS! They never really faded much, and I can only remember one small tear. I wore them until I finally "grew" out of them and they became too work stained even for me. I don't know what "brand" they were, but I'll bet the company couldn't have stayed in business manufacturing and selling new pairs. I still think about those pants when a discussion of jeans comes up. Totally amazing!
