Hey Mark,

When you install Jim's Spacers, break the nut(s) loose first. Tie the handle bar to the ceiling. Remove the tank so you don't have to worry about scratching it. I'm installing the spacers now. Had to pull the carbs to correct the shoddy work my ex-dealer, "Cycle Rider's" performed on Vera. Seems that if Cycle Rider's doesn't have intake manifold o-rings in stock they use high temp silicon. What a PITA and what a bunch of low-lifes. Oh well. I get to polish up the intake manifolds. Also pulled that teeny weeny fuel filter and blew it clean. When I tired of removing glue and silicone from the left manifold, (I finished with the right intake manifold), I thought that I would do the spacer install. It was Phil that told me how he tied up the bar to his ceiling. I tied Vera's handlebar up then thought that I would have been better off breaking the nut(s) loose first. Got the right one off, then the left one stripped. I'll finish with my cold chisel tomorrow morning, thank you very much. I have Vera all apart so thought it would be a good time to do the spacer install as I might have to relocate the throttle cables. I'll be posting some pics of the spacer install, the intake manifold o-ring replacement, the teeny weeny filter, and other things that I can. Maybe write it up and send it of to Pat (Dinqua) for posting on his tech site. When the wife's away, I get to play. Yeah with wrenches! Vera said that it was about time! I've only had the spacers for oh, 7 months or so....And I have had the o-rings since November of 2003! Gotta work on Vera. Must work on Vera....

PS: I had Pat's carb rejetting instructions for reference. The set I printing out last Sept, '03 when I installed the Scepters. That triangular plug is a beach. Thanks Pat for that pioneering documentary. The air box trick is way cool. Removing the chain guard really helps with that right rear airbox bolt too. Which, by the way, is a 6mm not an 8mm per your directions! Oh yeah, the torq value for the intake manifold is not listed in the torq values section. Instead it is conveyed to us via a schematic. Thanks Triumph!
