Just watched the news about the NYC shooter outside the Empire State Building. According to preliminary reports, two responding officers were standing approximately 8 feet from the shooter and fired sixteen rounds at him apparently striking 9 bystanders in the process. It is possible that some of the bystanders were struck by the primary shooter as well, but the report indicated they were more likely struck by errant police fire 8 feet from their target.
