Should yours still have the brass phillips head screws, why yes those strip out easy which is sort of the point as they will strip out before you waste the float bowl...

When you get the stainless steel screws (ace Hardware is a good place to check out) hand tighten gently only.



Moe, think he meant drain screws. But then again, I may be wrong, it happens sometimes.
