Unbelievable story. I was at a local dealership yesterday and a guy was trading my old America for a Thunderbird. The same America that I traded for a Rocket last spring and missed every day since then. Long story short: I bought my old bike on the spot and added it to my stable alongside my V-Strom. It's good to be back, folks. Full story on my blog here: Triumph America: A Love Story

Great story, every time I ride my bike and think about what else I would like to ride, I come back to: "No, this is the perfect ride for me, now and around here." I would like to add to the stable, but conflicted about what. Welcome back, ride safe.

i have often found that when somethings keep comeing back around like that, i am supposed to keep whatever it is. so i would take it as an omen(good or bad) to keep it unless someone offers you an outragous amount of $$$ for it, cuz that could be why it came back welcome home
ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

Great story and nicely told in your link, Joe. Yep, as bigbill noted, the tale was told very similar in style to how noted motojournalist Peter Egan tells his stories...beautifully! (...oh, and yeah...welcome back!)

Thanks all. I rode her all day today and grinned from ear to ear all day, too. What a great bike. And I'm serious in saying this: the best part of owning an America is this forum. The best in the motorcycling world, bar none.

I know what you mean Joe, I certainly miss my first America which I bought in 2004 and then joined this site, since then I bought a speedmaster which was new after having igniter problems with the 04, smashed the Speedy up and bought a 2002 America, and then bought a Thunderbird, but still have the America...
