I had my 2005 Speedmaster in for a 12,000 mile service. Not at a dealer, but a shop that I've used before and has been recommended by others. When I got the bike back (after three and a half weeks, grrr), it seems to have a lot of noise from the top of the engine. Is this to be expected with the reshimmed valves? The mechanic said things went together smoothly. He said he put it in top gear and spun the back tire and everything worked smoothly. The bike runs great and has plenty of power. Its just really noisy. Now, it was somewhat noisy before and I know these guys do sound like sewing machines, but this seems excessive. Some video and sound on youtube:
