When I was a paramedic in South Carolina station 11 was outside of Woodruff, SC, in Spartanburg County. The station was located on Marshall Tucker Road, so named for the farmer at the end of the road (routine way of naming rural roads in the south). Said farmer used to let the Caldwell boys have band practice in his barn. So they named their band after him.

Sad, a very young man to die at 54. RIP
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

Dang it all.. another picker down. Di and I worked security for a couple of their shows back in.... well, it was a long time ago. Seemed like nice folks... their manager was a bit twitchy though. My claim to fame? Their tour bus wouldn't start after the load out so I got it running for them.

The beauty, or one of the beauties of music, this tragic episode led me down a path that resulted in a Boz Scaggs revival at my house.

So this farmer "Marshall Tucker" was also a blind piano tuner?

Don't know anything about a piano tuner but they name roads after the farms that are on them down here. https://maps.google.com/maps?q=marshall+tucker+road+pauline+sc
