Thats about the response I got when my truck was stole. Even after I was behind it going down the highway they didn't want to help. I had to trick them into helping by saying he had a gun. Then they came out. Pretty sad I had to track down my own truck and had to trick the police into helping me recover it when I found it.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.
