I agree educating the kids is really important. A friend once said that he keeps the clip in the gun but not in the barrel. Also, it would be very difficult for little hands to reach it.
Although an isolated case, within the past year a home owner shot an armed intruder- his buddies got away. Guess I've got to decide if the small chance of being intruded upon and being prepared is worth the worry of having kids and a gun under the same roof.
Didn't buy into the hype, you can keep the change.
