there are specific circumstances that I think the firearm would be useful for home protection. I would need lots of prep time, in other words, if they are already in the house, it's probably too late. I am personally not comfortable keeping a loaded firearm at the bedside for such a contingency. I would forget and leave it accessible to the children. If one is comfortable with that risk, you will be able to respond quicker.
