Almost everyone in my family has conceal and carry permits, my two nephews that live with me do, but we don't leave guns loaded in the house, not even in the gun safe. But, there are handguns with clips removed in safe places around the house.
I would be uncomfortable leaving loaded guns around, including in a safe. I'd like to keep a loaded shotgun handy but... I'm not there yet.
For the time being, I keep a few "defensive weapons" within arms reach most of the time.
