What if the gun is needed during an intrusion? How do you avoid a situation where a gun is useless if it is unloaded or locked away? Should the gun only be accessible at night and put away when the kids are awake?
It is planned for the kids to be educated about firearms and even be present when it is used for target practice. Safty and a healthy respect for guns will be instilled. It's just that voice in the back of my head that has me flip-floping on whether to buy a gun or not.
