Back when I had my 64 hard tail, and again when restoring my 68 the wait for parts was really rather lengthy as well. But those were vintage bikes too, so that really was no surprise to me then. But a speedo cable for a 2007 BA....I would think they would have at least one on the shelf, (mainly because of the interchangeablity from model to model) but no. In my experience their inventory reorganization fails the MRPII JIT test to be sure! I think they need to hire me as an inventory/MRP managment consultant to improve their lead time on parts!
