All of a sudden, lose the left cylinder....plug good, nice blue spark, must be carbs. Removed left carb bowl, removed jet, and a little brass bushing fell out...Removed carbs, compared to right carb, yep, that's where it goes. Plopped bushing back into needle hole (must be some kind of needle guide), re-installed carbs, running fine so far....may have to apply some kind of adhesive if it keeps falling out....Anyone else experience this or have a fix?....2005 America, 56,000 miles...

not sure about lately but the procom units have issues of their own, do a search on it in here. I think most are preferring to go back to the oem unit, pricey but less likly to have issues with it. if you are replaing it at 56k miles thats not to bad given some of the history with our cdi, i think i would spend the 700 for the oem.

There are better guys than me to chime in about carbs, but I seem to remember the brass bushing you are referring to is trapped in place above the threaded in brass unit the the actual jet threads into. If it (needle guide) is falling out and you are finding it in the bowl, I suspect the re-assembly is out of sequence. The good news is you found it, if the bushing had hit the ground un noticed, you might have experienced an ugly Easter Egg Hunt, to diagnose the prob.

If its fireing on one side but not the other its the not the cdi, its the coil, wire, or spark plug.

It could still be the CDI. Those were the symptoms I was having. What you can to to test to see if it is the coils, is swap the coils. If your bike only fires on the other side then it is the coil. If no, then it's probably the CDI.
I have the Procom. If you get it instead of forking out all the extra cash for the factory CDI, use the stock map that is loaded on it. You'll still have a slight issue with cold starting, but after a couple minutes, it'll run great.

That's what Procom wants too if you buy it directly from their website http://www.procomeng.com/index.php?view=catalog&cat_id=5&brand_id=9&model_id=124

I thought there was someone on here repairing the stock CDIs.

I don't think they are repairing stock CDIs, but are modifying working ones.

When my 2006 America starting acting up with only one cyclinder firing I swapped the coils around to be sure about their condition. It ended up being the CDI. I bought the Procom unit and as Soren said it has its cold starting issue but it only last a minute or so and then it runs fine. I went with Procom's recommended setting.
'06 America, Raask foot controls, the bike use to be Graphite and Silver, now its Red and Black.

New Procom arrived, installed, set to "0" per instructions and part number of old unit...Nothing...bike would not fire..selected to "1", still nothing, "2" and "3", still nothing...Selected to position "4" and she fired and purred nicely. Up highway 120 out of Dallas after warm up, and WOW! What a difference! ZERO popping on decel, and nice strong pull to 80 mph....All the way down the connector through downtown to the airport, she sings like a bird! Very happy with this unit, and the price!

I set Wendys to 6 as per the instructions, I didn't see any of your first few setting recommended for the BA.

The part number on my original ICU was listed on the instructions sheet, and said to set to "0" for that particular part number...Bike would not fire on 0 thru 3. Selected "4" and she runs great...Not sure what's up with that, but Im happy....
