The bike was running way too lean. Pulling the snorkel along with the other two in the air box really opens up the airflow with after market pipes. I went from 120 mains to 135s after pulling the snorkels and opening up the snorkel support plate (air filter retainer). I had the same problem when I pulled the snorkel, no power, bogging down in the mid range like crazy. I purchased a selection of main jets and went from there.
I'm guessing 132 or 135 mains with TBS needles or the regular needles with a couple of shims installed and richening up your idle mixture screws would really waken up your bike. It did for me.
