So Big Labor is screwing their membership at the behest of President Bush and the Business community? Way too big a stretch.

Well, it certainly is easy to who's been lying to you. Using terms like "Big labor" shows you to be completely ignorant of the role that organized labor has played, and still plays in safeguarding working conditions for ALL workers. FYI Unions are not for profit organizations. Another point, the membership IS the organization, so "big labor" and the membership are not separate entities.
Organized labor (and I'll type slowly this time so you have a better chance of understanding) wants to organize (all) (immigrant) workers. That's what organized labor does, organize. Get it?

Remember, the UAW endorsed AL Gore who wrote a book declaring the internal combustion engine one of mankinds biggest threats. Another example of Labor working at cross purposes with its membership.

Organized labor, like all political interest groups focuses on a particular issue when endorsing candidates. The choice between Al Gore, who is friendly to labor's issues, and G. W. Bush, who would gladly destroy the middle class so he could have more money is a no-brainer.
