I've listed a decent bike now twice in just about every publication I can including two 10 day ebay listings and nothing. 117 watchers it not one bid.
I'm asking a decent and very reasonable amount and the bikes in decent shape. But I notice week after week that many of the bikes in the mags selling. Ands at lots also! Any advice?

The recovery is still slow and people are just beginning to feel secure enough to open their wallets for things like motorcycles again. The market for bikes has gotten pretty good around here. I've bought 2 in the past year and bikes don't seem to stay on the market too long locally.

How's the overall economy where you live?

A few pounds (or $$$) down payment and a few pounds (or $$$) a week and you can sell anything. But for quick cash in hand, expect 60- 75 % of what you'd pay if you were the buyer. Even the Harleys aren't bringing the asking prices like in good financial times. I've been the high bidder on several bikes of all brands on ebay recently, but everyone thinks their bikes are worth more. I emailed a Harley Ultra Classic owner that I had been the high bidder twice on ebay, told him that there were over 7 billion people on the planet and I had offered more than anyone else twice!! He didn't flinch.

I've always found it easier to buy than to sell ......that is why I have alot of old bikes in my garage and not so much in my pocket...consequently , I've solved the problem of not being able to sell along with the associated expence of running "for sale ads" by not buying ...my wife has supported me forcefully in this descission.

Well, someone got lucky this week. Saw a 2010 America on eBay.co.uk. Got some accessories. It sold for an amazing £7000! Dunno what the buyer was thinking. The latest new model America sells for £6999 otr in the UK. Okay, no accessories but you can negotiate a discount, get latest model with 0 miles, 2 year parts and labour, 1 year recovery and 12 months excise duty. I think the buyer was a mug. Sorry if you're reading this, m8!

LOL

People assume everything on eBay is a good price.

Yep, and it rarely is. I go there more as a reference point than anything else.
