I understand. I let mine go about 10K until I removed the air injection so mine would blue up 
Taking it out will also stop or greatly reduce the exhaust popping on decel....although some like that too, I suppose  but that was my main reason to remove it as some of the pops were more like BOOMS.
It does absolutely nothing performance wise to remove it so no biggy if you want to leave it intact.
