You can check static voltage on the battery with a multimeter, however that won't tell you the full story. If the resting voltage is less than say 12.6v it either needs a charge or a replacement. A load test is necessary to confirm. If you don't have a load tester then you can pull the battery & take it to one of the chain autoparts store & ask them to load test it.
