Come on Bill, I have yet to see a full face that allows the range of vision that no helmet allows and the wind vs. helmet hearing level is arguable. I would say the full face allows better hearing than the 1/2 helmet I used to wear. The wind whipping through those wear flaps is deafening.
The average human has about 180 degrees of visibility, my flip face helmet allows for at least 220 degrees from my eye position wearing the helmet or about 20 degrees beyond the limits of the average human eyeball both left and right. Admittedly the up and down vision is a little more restricted but then, threats usually don't come from the fuel tank or the sky.
Same here on the peripheral vision.
Statistically, most threats to motorcycles come from in front or from behind.
If danger is coming at you from the limits of your peripheral vision (like a deer!) it's probably too late to do anything about it anyway. In any event, when you're riding you need to have 360 degree awareness.
The eyes in the back of my head have x-ray vision and see right through my helmet.
