Not on the bike but Me! About two months ago I was at Advanced Auto and noticed that they had Mobil 1 racing 4T oil on sale. That is the oil I use. Regular $10.99 on sale for $7:99. So I bought 4 quarts and put it up till this past Saturday. Drained the old oil out and went to put the new oil in. First quart and noticed that the oil was darker than I remember. Put the next quart in and its clean and good looking. Don't know what to think. The third quart I put is is good and clean. Still havn't figured it out. Opened the last and it is dark and smells burnt. Finally hits me what had happened. Some low down @#%^%$#%$^& ##%$^% @#%$^&**& ##@$^*&%$# had bought some oil, change it and put there old oil back in the new cans and returned it to the store. I guess they just put it back on the shelf not knowing that people are CRAP! Too mad to try to take it back that day. Went yesterday to let them know not to put oil back on shelf when returned. I didn't expect them to make it good since it had been over two months since I had bought the oil. When I told them it was all I could do not to go off on somebody. It still pisses me off thinking about it. They gave me four new quarts and that helped but I still am mad that people can be so low down!

They pull that crap where I work all the time. I just can't seem to get it through the heads of the girls at the returns desk that "done with it" is not a defect.

I'd be highly pissed and somebody might just be getting an ass whooping.

You can't buy a can of whipped creme where I live without all the Nitrous (propellant) huffed out by some stoner-buzzhead, while it's still in the cold case. Took a can back to the store and the manager told me "They do it all the time", he had to replace it with a can from the back to find one still charged up.

They were doing that with iPads recently. They would take the iPad out, replace it with an equal weight of paper, shrink wrap the thing and take it back. Because it was shrink wrapped it was put back on the shelves.

Advance Auto would be getting a call to corporate. That's B.S. Either that person was sneaky and resealed the break-away seal on the oil or Advance Auto knew what was going on and sold you used oil anyway.

Not in Advance Auto's interest to scam anyone, but at least now I know where to get rid of my used oil.

People do it all the time. I had a guy 2 days ago try and return a marine battery he claimed he bought last year. They have a 12 month warranty. The ship date on the side clearly showed Jan 08 and that date had been punched out on the top. He had no receipt and kept arguing with me. I tried to tell him a battery that old would have been returned to the supplier long before he claimed he bought it. The label was all faded off too. He argued with me the entire time that he had just bought it even as he was buying a new one and using that one for the core.

Wal Marts with a tire and lube take used oil for free.

If it's any consolation, I hear there's a special room in Hades for people that do this. They get fresh, filtered coffee three times a day, but the coffee has been recycled through the human body's filter system.

I like that thought.

Reminds me of an old joke. Guy goes to hell and meets the devil to find out his fate. The devil tells the man he has a choice between 3 rooms. He takes him to the first room and when they look inside they see people being tortured. Then they move on to the 2nd room where they see people standing knee deep in poop drinking coffee. Then on to room 3 they see people at hard labor being whipped. The man says this is an easy choice I'll take room number 2. So the devil puts him in there and hands him a cup of coffee and leaves. About 5 minutes later the devil comes back in room number 2 and says "OK, coffee break's over, back to standing on your heads!"
