Yeah, the 4T shows that it's a motorcycle specific.
I've been using the Mobil One 4T Racing 10W40 since my first oil change eight years ago. Noticed a difference with that first change. I tried a 20W50 once and experienced similar to what you did plus my gas mileage dropped.
The shop probably used a non-synthetic higher weight oil.
