Sorry for your loss unclecharlie.
While I am not qualified to write a proper obituary, I would like to share a few facts about unclecharlie's Mom. Mrs. Coe was part of the WWII generation, and served her country as a Naval officer during said war, where she met unclecharlie's Dad, also a Naval officer.
After the war, she went on to get a degree at ivy league Columbia University, then began a career teaching and raising her family. Her husband, Mr. Coe, died young, leaving her to raise two spirited lads, unclecharlie and his brother.
Not sure which was more of a challenge - riding herd on unclecharlie and brother or doing battle with the Nazis / Japanese. I'll leave that conclusion to the imagination of the reader and in stead, offer to her a prayer.
May the good earth be soft under you when you rest upon it,
and may it rest easy over you when, at the last, you lay out under it,
and may it rest so lightly over you that your soul may be out from under it quickly,
and up, and off, and be on its way to God.
