I didn't want to hijack another cush drive post so I figured I'd make a separate post.

Last evening while cleaning/lubing the chain I noticed I could rotate the rear sprocket, inside the wheel hub, nearly a quarter of an inch, with the rear wheel sitting on the ground.

I've diagnosed this as a failing cush drive and I'll order new rubber (the t-bird part) but my question is, how much play (slop) do other people see before and after replacing a bad cush? I have less than 10K miles on the bike so I'm a little disappointed at the longevity of the part. Oh, and if you don't think the cush is the problem, let me know what else I should look at.

That seems to be the normal amount (1/4") of rotational slop with Spy/Amer. cush rubbers. The T-Bird rubber eliminates this. Triumph should have done a recall as to this. IMO

Have the same experience as Ryk. Was worth changing to the tbird
cush. I probably had 15K when I changed it. Did the change when I needed a new chain, so did both at the same time. I've got 37K now so no issues with the new cush for me. Worth the upgrade imo.
