I am beginning to wonder if it's because I have a Mac.Well, according to the FAQ on site:

I just registered a few minutes ago without any problems other than for some reason it thought my 'secondary' dealer was in Spain
I'm not running a Mac, but a Linux box and using a very old version of Mozilla for my browser, which usually is much more of a problem than a Mac!
