I had considered doing away with my air box but decided against it. (It was a great mod on my past carbureted Bonneville along with the TORs.) There were no maps / tunes that I could find for it at the time and the local tuners didn't recommend it and had no experience with pods on the EFI twins. Add to that they only tune with Power Commander, not TuneECU. I would think it would need a good bit of Dyno time and a very experienced tuner to get good results. Might even need bigger throttle bodies to actually get more air/fuel in. I wound up going the more expensive cams, big bore, enlarged air inlet and proper tuning (rode 500 miles round trip for Dyno-tune). Very happy with current performance.
Would be interested in others experiences with the EFI models.
