I've actually had that happen to me once when I was on my home from the Midwest rally a couple years ago. It his the top of my fly screen and into my helmet. For a second, I couldnt believe what just happened.

I have been wide open on a 4 wheeler and had a hummingbird get me in the chest. Thank god I was on a 4 wheeler and not a 2 wheeler. My hands let go of the bars, my back hit the seat and it knocked the wind out of me.

I had a very close call with a turkey buzzard once. I moving pretty fast on a twisty back road. I saw the bird on the shoulder and when it started to take off it flew right into my path. They are very big and mover very slowly.I steered to avoid it but it kept following my path of travel. I had to lock the rear wheel and kick it out to the side and lean the bike opposite my direction of travel.(dirt bike experience)I managed to avoid it but I could have almost reached out and touched it at one point.
I learned all I need to know about life by killing smart people and eating their brains.

Got hit by a bird once, or did I hit the the bird? I was going about 60 mph down a two-lane rural highway. Saw it coming out of the corner of my eye, and tried to Matrix dodge it. I was not successful. The robin clipped my left shoulder, and I saw it spin off and land in the shoulder in my mirror. Hurt like hell and left quite a nasty bruise. I still flinch every now and again when a bird catches me off guard.

I got hit by a bird once... smacked me right in the face shield and damn near knocked me off the bike.

A few years ago I was pushing the bike pretty hard through a twisty country road when a pheasant popped out of the weeds and hit the turn signal on the lightbar. I was going about 35 mph and leaning almost to the point of scraping the footboards. The bike shook a little and I got quite a start but there was no damage to me or the bike. The bird took off before I could get her insurance information.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

AmyLee and I had a close call with a Wild Turkey Sunday afternoon on a little ride to Oakhurst, Maripose and home through Le Grand loop, and I don't mean that Wild Turkey 101 made in Kentucky either. Them suckers are huge, a couple of weeks ago one took out my brother and laws Chrysler's van windshield off of Hwy 101 near Atascadero. Just Saying.

A number of years ago, I was riding just outside of town and out of the blue, a big barn owl swooped me, close enough to hear his feathers and scare the bejesus out of me. A couple of days later, in the same spot, he/she did it again! I figured the owl maybe did it to protect a nest in a close by barn or tree. A few months later another friend of mine said that same owl did the same thing to him in his car. The weird thing to me was it was in the middle of the day and I figured an owl was nocturnal.

A few years ago I saw a FedEx truck hit a turkey buzzard. Smashed the windscreen and the bird flew away. Now THAT'S one tough bird. I would hate to have one hit me on the bike.

When I was in flight school in the Navy a young Maring 2ndLT named Steve Haney was flying, I believe, FAM 3 (Familiarization Flight 3). Third time in the airplane. Steve and his instructor struck a turkey buzzard, which shattered the canopy on their T-34C and rendered them both unconscious.
The instructor, whose name escapes me, came to but, in his muddled state, was unable to regain control of the aircraft. He went on the intercom and issued a 'bailout; order. The T34C has no command eject, you had to bailout the way the pioneers did.
He issue a second order, without response. He later stated that, looking to the rear cockpit all he saw was blood and guts. A grisly scene.
Passing through 1500ft he issued the third ordered then got the heck out of Dodge.
Seconds later, Steve came to, covered in turkey entrails. He grabbed the stick, recovered from the spin, and managed to return to South Whiting field flying a convertible
