IMHO this is the wave of the future. In the next few years you'll start seeing more machines like this on the road as battery technology improves.
Who cares what they sound like?
I'm done with loud pipes on bikes. If all you ride is 20 miles for an ice cream cone, you can deal with loud. 400-mile days with loud pipes are pretty unpleasant to me.
